Per Espen Stoknes :
Per Espen Stoknes is an eco-psychologist, author, and educator working closely with organizational and business leaders throughout Scandinavia and the European Union. A senior lecturer at the Norwegian School of Management, he also teaches at the Executive School in Oslo.
Educated as a psychologist at the University of Oslo with additional studies at the C. G. Jung Institut in Zürich, Per Espen supplemented this with extensive studies in organizational theory, philosophy and mythology. Deeply influenced by, and associated with, the radical Jungian psychologist James Hillman, Per Espen has worked both as a clinical psychologist and organizational psychologist, and in the nineties was the editor of the Norwegian psychology journal, “Impuls.” He has also written a weekly column in a consortium of 50 Norwegian newspapers. In 1996 he published the book “Sjelens landskap – refleksjon over natur og myter” (Landscapes of Soul – reflections on nature and myth). In 2004 he published “Lær av Fremtiden” (Learning from the Future). English translations of both books are currently in the works.
As an consultant Per Espen has worked with a wide range of major business clients, as well as many governmental and educational agencies, including the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Justice, the University of Oslo, Norwegian Rail, Norway Organisation for Technology Assessment, etc. These engagements give him a unique grasp of both the promises and the pitfalls of “sustainable development.”
A popular speaker throughout Scandinavia, Per Espen lives in Oslo and on a farm deep in the woods near Kongsberg, Norway. With three horses and two small children, he takes time for long, solitary walks whenever possible – it is these walks that nourish his ongoing work exploring the wild dimensions of the soul. He is currently completing a book on Soul and Money: ReVisioning Economics.
